Wildaria Guide

Updates and roadmap history

Quick answer

Wildaria has been patched in public since May 2024: twenty dated updates from the 1.1.x pre-alpha line through the 2.6 world-generation overhaul, the July 2026 closed alpha and the August 2026 alpha patch. Multiplayer and localisation are the two roadmap items still outstanding.

Five years of builds, newest first

Wildaria has been shipped in public in one form or another since 2024, with a pre-alpha versioning line (1.1.x through 2.6) that was reset to a 1.0.x line when the game went to closed alpha. The dates below come from the developer's own Steam announcements; they are useful because they show which systems have been reworked most, which is a decent proxy for where the design is still moving.

What the roadmap says

The developer keeps a roadmap in the community channels and has quoted it directly in the Steam forums. Two lines from it are public:

  • Multiplayer — delayed along with the Early Access delay, development to resume "this year", with multiplayer playtesting targeted for 2027. Full detail, including the split-screen request, is on the multiplayer page.
  • Localisation — planned rather than shipped. The game currently lists English only (with full English audio); the developer has said localisation is coming in a later update and named French as one of the languages in scope.

How to read this list as a player

  1. Pets are the most-iterated system. Creature Collector, Companion Arena and the taming work inside later patches have all touched it — the developer treats it as the game's spine.
  2. World generation is the newest priority. The 2.6 overhaul is the most recent structural change, and it arrived with performance work attached.
  3. Combat and abilities are mature. The last dedicated combat patch was December 2024; since then combat has been touched incidentally rather than rebuilt.
  4. Meta systems are the least settled. Skill tree size, respec and class identity are the things players have asked the developer to expand most, and the respec system was still WIP in August 2026 — see classes and skills.
