Classes, species and the skill tree
You pick one of five species and customise appearance, then specialise through a skill tree. The tree was small in the alpha builds — a complaint the developer acknowledged — and a respec system arrived as work in progress in August 2026 at Ora's Overgrown Library.

Five species, then a class direction
Character creation in Wildaria is a roleplay system first. You choose from five fantasy species and then edit face, hair and body shape before you start. The developer lists customisation as a headline feature rather than a formality — the point is that your tamer looks like the one you had in mind.
After creation the game expects you to specialise. The store page describes it plainly: level up, specialise in your class, and unlock skills in the skill tree.
The skill tree, honestly
Alpha players were blunt about this one: a feedback thread from the playtest said the tree "looked absolutely tiny" for a game of Wildaria's scope, and asked whether more was coming. The developer's reply did not dispute it — they answered that several items from that same feedback round had already been implemented, reported or suggested, and confirmed the respec work that shows up in the August patch.
That is the honest state of the class system as of 2 October 2026:
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| How many classes? | Not published as a fixed list. Skill-tree branches the community has seen include a mounted-combat direction, a healing direction and a hunter direction. |
| How big is the tree? | Small in the alpha builds — a known complaint, acknowledged by the developer. |
| Can you respec? | The August 2026 patch added a work-in-progress respec system at Ora's Overgrown Library — the Orchard of Wisdom. |
| Are the branches exclusive? | Not documented. Nothing published says a character is locked out of a branch. |
How to choose without regret
- Decide what your pet is for before you spend points. A mount-and-charge playstyle and a stay-back-and-heal playstyle want different branches, and your pet slots into whichever you pick. See the pet taming page.
- Do not build around a respec you have not confirmed. The August patch's respec was explicitly WIP; check that it works in your build before planning to undo a bad early choice.
- Take the mobility branch seriously if you like exploring. With an endless procedural world, traversal is a real cost, and anything that shortens it pays back every session.
- Species choice is cosmetic-plus. Race selection is presented alongside face, hair and body as roleplay customisation; no published data ties species to stat differences, so pick the one you want to look at.
Where this fits in the rest of the game
The class system is deliberately lighter than the pet system right now. If you are deciding where to spend your attention in the first twenty hours:
- Pets carry the power curve — levels and elemental abilities do the heavy lifting.
- Your weapon and abilities carry the moment-to-moment fights — see combat and weapons.
- The skill tree shapes the flavour of how you play those fights, and is the system most likely to change after launch, because it is the one the community has actively asked the developer to expand.
